Policy
1. What We Collect
When you play Wordamo, we may collect the following information:
- Username / display name — chosen by you when you create a profile
- Game scores and statistics — your scores, streaks, achievements, and play history
- IP address — used for country-level geolocation and fraud prevention
- Device type — browser or operating system type, for compatibility purposes
- General location — country level only, derived from your IP address via ipapi.co
- Friend codes — if you use the Friends feature, we store your 6-character friend code and your friends list
We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, or precise location unless you voluntarily provide it (e.g., in feedback you submit).
2. How We Use It
- Displaying your scores on leaderboards and in tournaments
- Tracking your progress, streaks, and achievements within the game
- Running daily, weekly, and monthly competitions
- Improving the game based on aggregated usage patterns
- Detecting and preventing fraud or abuse
- Displaying country-appropriate content or currency
We do not use your data for profiling, automated decision-making, or sale to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
Wordamo uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing their data collection.

4. Data Retention
Your player profile, scores, and game data are retained while your account is active. If you stop playing, we may retain aggregated, anonymised statistics indefinitely for leaderboard integrity.
You may request complete deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@wordamo.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
5. Your Rights
GDPR (EU / EEA / UK users):
- Right to access the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to data portability
- Right to restriction of processing
- Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (e.g., ICO in the UK, your national DPA in the EU)
CCPA / CPRA (California residents):
- Right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold
- Right to delete your personal information
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- We do not sell your personal information
- We do share device identifiers with Google AdMob for cross-context behavioural advertising (ad personalisation). California residents may opt out at any time via adssettings.google.com or by contacting us at support@wordamo.com to request non-personalised ads.
All users: To exercise any of your rights, contact us at support@wordamo.com. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
Wordamo uses your browser's localStorage to save your game state (scores, settings, preferences) entirely on your device. We do not set first-party tracking cookies.
Third-party scripts such as Google Fonts, Google AdSense, and PayPal may set their own cookies subject to their respective privacy policies.
7. Children
Wordamo is rated for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the applicable age of digital consent in their country — this is 13–16 years depending on EU member state under GDPR Article 8).
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child below the applicable age, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent should contact us at support@wordamo.com and we will act within 30 days.
For EU users aged 13 up to the applicable national age of digital consent (up to 16 depending on member state), we rely on verifiable parental consent as required by GDPR Article 8 before processing their personal data.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice where feasible via in-app notification or email.
Continued use of Wordamo after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
9. Mobile Application (Android)
Wordamo is available as an Android application distributed via the Google Play Store. The app collects and processes data as described in this policy. In addition:
- Advertising: The app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect your advertising ID and use it to serve personalised ads. See Google's Privacy Policy for details. You can opt out of personalised ads via your device settings under Privacy > Ads.
- Leaderboards & tournaments: If you participate in online leaderboards or tournaments, your score and chosen display name are stored on our servers (Supabase) and visible to other players. No email address or real name is required.
- Offline play: Core gameplay works without an internet connection. No data is transmitted during offline sessions.
